Made under the Family Violence Legislation Reform Act 2020 section 2(1)(c) by the Governor in Executive Council.

1.     Citation

This proclamation is the Family Violence Legislation Reform
Act 2020 Commencement Proclamation 2020.

2.    Commencement

The Family Violence Legislation Reform Act 2020, other than Part 1 and sections 12, 31, 37 and 95, comes into operation as follows —

(a) the following provisions come into operation on
6 August 2020 —

(i)Part 2 (other than sections 5, 6 and 12);

(ii) Part 3 (other than sections 13 to 31);

(iii) Part 5 (but only sections 38, 42, 44, 45 and 49);

(iv)Part 6 (other than sections 52, 55, 56, 58, 59, 63,

64, 72, 76, 77 and 82);

(v)Part 7;

(b) the following provisions come into operation on
1 October 2020 —

(i)sections 5, 6, 50 and 77;

(ii) Part 10 (other than section 95);

(c) the following provisions come into operation on
1 January 2021 —

(i)sections 13 to 30;

(ii) Part 4 (other than section 37);

(iii) sections 39 to 41, 43, 46 to 48, 52, 55, 56, 58, 59,

63, 64, 72, 76 and 82;

(iv) Parts 8 and 9.
