Family Law Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Family Law Act 1975.

Commencement

1. (1) Regulations 2 and 3 shall come into operation on 1 July 1986.

 (2) Regulation 4 shall come into operation on 1 September 1986.

Meaning of “relevant authority”

2. In these Regulations, “relevant authority” has the same meaning as in Part V of the Family Law Regulations.

Adjustment of certain composite amounts and amounts that may be paid by relevant authorities

3. (1)The Family Law Regulations shall, in respect of work done in relation to a matter that is referred by a relevant authority to a solicitor during the period commencing on 1 July 1986 and ending at the expiration of 31 August 1986, be taken to have effect as if for the amount specified in Column 3 of Schedule 1 in an item in that Schedule, being an amount referred to in the provision of those Regulations specified in Column 2 of that Schedule in that item, there were substituted the amount specified in Column 4 of that Schedule in that item.

(2) The Family Law Regulations shall, in respect of work done by a solicitor during the period commencing on 1 July 1986 and ending at the expiration of 31 August 1986 in relation to a matter referred by a relevant authority to the solicitor, be taken to have effect as if for the amount specified in Column 3 of Schedule 2 in an item in that Schedule, being an amount referred to in the provision of those Regulations specified in Column 2 of that Schedule in that item, there were substituted the amount specified in Column 4 of that Schedule in that item.

Amendment of the Family Law Regulations in relation to certain composite amounts and amounts that may be paid by relevant authorities

4. (1)The Family Law Regulations are amended by omitting the amount specified in Column 3 of Schedule 1 in an item in that Schedule, being an amount referred to in the provision of those Regulations specified in Column 2 of that Schedule in that item, and substituting the amount specified in Column 5 of that Schedule in that item.

 (2) The Family Law Regulations are amended by omitting the amount specified in Column 3 of Schedule 2 in an item in that Schedule, being an amount referred to in the provision of those Regulations specified in Column 2 of that Schedule in that item, and substituting the amount specified in Column 5 of that Schedule in that item.

 (3) The amendments of the Family Law Regulations effected by sub-regulation (1) apply in respect of work done in relation to a matter that is referred by a relevant authority to a solicitor after 31 August 1986.

 (4) The amendments of the Family Law Regulations effected by sub-regulation (2) apply in respect of work done by a solicitor after 31 August 1986 in relation to a matter referred by a relevant authority to the solicitor.
