Family Law Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Family Law Act 1975.

1. Amendment

1.1 The Family Law Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

2. Regulation 27 (Transmission of orders made in Australia for enforcement in reciprocating jurisdictions)

2.1 Add at the end:

“(3) In this regulation, a reference to the registrar of a court in which an order is made or registered, in relation to an order registered in the Child Support Register under section 24 or 24a of the Child Support (Registration and Collection) Act 1988. includes the Child Support Registrar.

“(4) In this regulation:

‘Child Support Register’ means the register established by section 13 of the Child Support (Registration and Collection) Act 1988:

‘Child Support Registrar’ means the office created by section 10 of the Child Support (Registration and Collection) Act 1988:

‘order’ includes:

(a) a maintenance liability registered under section 24 of the Child Support (Registration and Collection) Act 1988; and

(b) a child support assessment registered under section 24a of the Child Support (Registration and Collection) Act 1988.”.
