Family Law (Child Abduction Convention)

Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Family Law Act 1975.

Principal Regulations

1. In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Family Law (Child Abduction Convention) Regulations.

Convention countries

2. Regulation 10 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting paragraph (a) and substituting the following paragraph:

“(a) a country specified in column 2 of an item in Schedule 2, being a country;

(i) as between Australia and which the Convention entered into force on the date specified in column 3 of that item; and

(ii) that has acceded to the Convention with reservations in accordance with Article 42 of the Convention in respect of any provisions specified in column 4 of that item;”.

Schedule 2

3. Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations is repealed and the following Schedule substituted:
