I, WILLIAM PATRICK DEANE, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Family Law Act 1975.

1.   Name of regulations

1.1   These regulations are the Family Law Amendment Regulations

1998 (No. 4).

2.   Commencement

2.1   These regulations commence on 1 September 1998.

3.   Amendment

3.1   The Family Law Regulations are amended as set out in these regulations.

4.   Regulation 1 (Citation)

4.1   Omit the regulation, substitute:

Name of regulations

 “1. These regulations are the Family Law Regulations 1984.”.

5.   Regulation 60 (Community mediators and private mediators — qualifications, training and experience)

5.1   Subparagraph 60 (3) (a) (i):

Omit “31 August 1998;”, substitute “31 August 1999;”.

5.2   Subregulation 60 (4):

Omit “31 August 1998”, substitute “31 August 1999”.
