FAIR TRADING ACT 1987—REGULATION

(Relating to sun tanning apparatus)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Fair Trading Act 1987, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 1st May, 1993.

Amendment

2. The Product Safety Regulation 1988 is amended by omitting Part 7.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to repeal Part 7 of the Product Safety Regulation
1988. That Part deals with product safety standards in respect of the construction

and labelling of sun lamp products. ultraviolet lamps, globes and bulbs apparently designed for use in sun lamp products and protective eyewear for home use. The

provisions in Part 7 are no longer of any practical utility, with the standard not
being applied in several years.

This Regulation is made under the Fair Trading Act 1987, including section 92 (the general regulation-making power) and section 26.
