Act No. 75, 1990

An Act to amend the Factories, Shops and Industries Act 1962 to allow any shop to trade on the two Sundays immediately before Christmas Day. [Assented to 4 December 1990]

Factories, Shop and Industries (Christmas Trading) Amendment 1990

The Legislature of New South Wales enacts:

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Factories, Shops and Industries

(Christmas Trading) Amendment Act 1990.

Commencement

2. This Act commences on the date of assent.

Amendment of Factories, Shops and Industries Act 1962 No. 43

3. The Factories, Shops and Industries Act 1962 is amended by

omitting section 84 (1) and by inserting instead the following
subsection:

(1) Shops (other than scheduled shops and small shops) are to be kept closed on Sundays, except for the two Sundays immediately preceding Christmas Bay.
