FACTORIES, SHOPS AND INDUSTRIES ACT 1962—

REGULATION

(Relating to wheeled tractors)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council,
and in pursuance of the Factories, Shops and Industries Act 1962, has

been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 1st September, 1991.

Amendments

2. The Rural Industries (Machine Safety) Regulations are amended:
(a) by omitting from Regulation 7 (2) (b) the following words:

Australian Standard No. N70-1969, entitled “Requirements and Testing of Protective Cabs and Protective Frames for Agricultural Wheeled Tractors ’’

and by inserting instead the following words:

Australian Standard 1636-1984 entitled “Agricultural
Wheeled Trac tors—Roll-over Protective Structures—Criteria

and Tests”;

(b)

by omitting Regulation 7 (a) and by inserting instead the following paragraph:

1991—No. 423

(a)

a tractor weighing less than 560kg or more than 15 000kg, the weight of the tractor being that at which the tractor in any form is normally available for retail sale when new and with a full fuel tank and maximum quantities of coolant and lubricating oil; or

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to mend the Rural Industries (Machine Safety)

Regulations:

(a) to update a reference to an Australian Standard relating to wheeled tractors;

and

(b) to increase the weight above which wheeled tractors will be exempt from
