(Relating to opening and closing hours for shops

selling records, cassettes and tapes)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Factories, Shops and Industries Act 1962, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Shops (Registration and Opening and Closing Hours) Regulations are amended by inserting in appropriate order in Schedule 2 in Columns 1 and 2, respectively, the following matter:

1A Audio shops

1A. The sale of records, compact discs and blank and pre-recorded audio cassettes and audio tapes.

The sale of blank and pre-recorded video cassettes and video tapes.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Shops (Registration and Opening and Closing Hours) Regulations so as to describe, for the purposes of clause 13 of the Regulation, the trades carried on by audio shops and video shops which, by virtue of an order made under section 78 (5) of the Factories, Shops and Industries Act

1990 - NO. 473

1962, are scheduled shops and thus exempt from the trading hours restrictions
imposed by that Act.
