FACTORIES, SHOPS AND INDUSTRIES ACT 1962 -

REGULATION

(Relating to notification of accidents or work-related illnesses)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Factories, Shops and Industries Act 1962, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences when the Occupational Health and

Safety (Notification of Accidents) Regulation 1990 commences.

Amendment of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Regulations

2. The Boiler and Pressure Vessel Regulations are amended by

omitting Regulation 87.

Amendment of Factories (Health and Safety) General Regulations

1913

3. The Factories (Health and Safety) General Regulations 191 3 are

amended by omitting Regulation 42.

1990 - NO. 414

Amendment of Factories (Health and Safety - Hearing Conservation)
Regulation 1979

4. The Factories (Health and Safety - Hearing Conservation) Regulation 1979 is amended by omitting clause 9 (3) and (4).

Amendment of Factories (Health and Safety - Spray Painting)
Regulation 1977

5. The Factories (Health and Safety - Spray Painting) Regulation 1977 is amended by omitting clause 21 (4).

Amendment of Lead Regulations

6. The Lead Regulations are amended by omitting Regulation 14 (1) (b), (c) and (d) and (2).

Amendment of Luminous Radioactive Substances Regulations

7. The Luminous Radioactive Substances Regulations are amended by omitting Regulation 20 (b), (c) and (d).

Repeal of Rural Industries (Notification of Accidents) Regulations

8. The Rural Industries (Notification of Accidents) Regulations are repealed.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to omit the provisions of various Regulations under the Factories, Shops and Industries Act 1962 relating to the notification of accidents or work-related illnesses in factories and certain other places. The Occupational Health and Safety (Notification of Accidents) Regulation 1990 will make general provision for the notification of accidents and work-related illnesses at all places of work.
