REGULATION
(Relating to fees for certificates of competency)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Factories, Shops and Industries Act 1962, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement
1. This Regulation commences on 15th March, 1991.
Amendment of Engine Drivers and Boiler Attendants Certification
Regulations
2. The Engine Drivers and Boiler Attendants Certification Regulations
are amended by omitting the First Schedule and by inserting instead the
following Schedule:
FIRST SCHEDULE—FEES
1. The application fee payable under Regulation 5 (7) for a
certificate of competency is $60.
Where the applicant for a certificate of competency has previously paid the appropriate fee, but has failed to attend for examination for a reason satisfactory to the Board, no fee is payable.

2. The fee to be paid for:
(a) a certificate of service;
(b)
a certificate under Regulation 4 (3) (unless the applicant is the holder of an interim certificate of competency); or
(c)
an interim certificate of competency under Regulation 4 (3),
is $30.
3. The application fee under Regulation 7 for a statement of particulars is:
(a)
$30 for the first statement issued in respect of any certificate; or
(b) $45 for any subsequent statement.
Amendment of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Regulations
3. The Boiler and Pressure Vessel Regulations are amended:
(a)
by omitting from paragraph 4 of Schedule 1 the matter “20.00” wherever occurring and by inserting instead the matter “60.00”;
(b)
by omitting from paragraph 4 of Schedule 1 the matter “25.00” and by inserting instead the matter “60.00”;
(c)
by omitting from paragraph 4 of Schedule I the matter “10.00” wherever occurring and by inserting instead the matter “30.00”.
EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Regulation is to amend:
(a) the Engine Drivers and Boiler Attendants Certification Regulations to increase the fees payable for applications for certificates of competency, for the issue of certificates of service and for the issue of statements of particulars contained in certificates; and (b) the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Regulations to increase the fees payable for examinations and certification of applicants for welders’ certificates or welding supervisors’ certificates and for the issue of replacement certificates.
