FACTORIES, SHOPS AND INDUSTRIES ACT 1962—
REGULATION
(Repealing obsolete provisions with respect to noise levels)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Factories, Shops and Industries Act 1962, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement
1. This Regulation commences on 31 May 1997.
Amendment
2. The Timber Industry (Health and Safety) Regulation 1982 is
amended:
(a)
by omitting the definitions of “daily noise dose” and “level” from clause 3 (1);
(b) by omitting clause 3 (3) and (4) (a);
(c) by omitting clause 7.
Repeal
3. The Factories (Health and Safety—Hearing Conservation)
Regulation 1979 is repealed.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Regulation is to repeal obsolete provisions with respect to noise levels in places of work as a consequence of the making of the Occupational Health and Safety (Noise) Regulation 1996.
This Regulation is made under the Factories, Shops and Industries Act 1962,
including section 144 (the general regulation making power).
