Amendment Regulation 1999

Factories, Shops and Industries Act 1962

His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Factories, Shops and Industries Act 1962.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to repeal the provisions of the Factories (Health and Safety) General Regulations 1913 relating to the following:

(a) applications to register or to erect or alter factories,
(b) appeals to the Minister concerning applications to erect or alter factories,
(c) permits to use premises as factories,

(d)

notifications concerning defects in factories and appeals to the Minister concerning such notifications,

(e)

certificates of registration of factories and exhibition of such certificates and of permits to use premises as factories.

This Regulation is made under the Factories, Shops and Industries Act 1962,
including section 68 (the general regulation-making power).
The repeals are made as a consequence of the repeal of sections 10–13 of the
Factories, Shops and Industries Act 1962 by the Occupational Health and

Safety Amendment Act 1997.

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Factories (Health and Safety) General

Amendment Regulation 1999.

2 Commencement

This Regulation commences on 8 December 1999.

3      Amendment of Factories (Health and Safety) General Regulations 1913

The Factories (Health and Safety) General Regulations 1913 are amended by omitting Regulations 26, 26A, 27, 27A, 29, 30, 31, 34 and 49.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.
