AN ACT to amend the Factories and Shops Act,

1920-1948.

[Assented to 18th December, 1951.]

RE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent

Majesty, by and with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council and the Legislative

Assembly of Western Australia, in this present

Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the

same, as follows:—

Short title. 1. This Act may be cited as the Factories and

Shops Act Amendment Act, 1951, and shall be read

as one with the Factories and Shops Act, 1920-1948 (Act No. 44 of 1920, as reprinted pursuant to the

Amendments Incorporation Act, 1938, with amend-

ments to and including Act No. 41 of 1947, incorpor- ated, and further amended by Act No. 15 of 1948), referred to in this Act as the principal Act.

3.    The following subsection is added to section amended.

one hundred and thirty-two of the principal Act:

(la) A child shall not occupy or use any building premises or place as a shop or ware- house.

4. Paragraph (a) of section one hundred and ?acted.

thirty-eight of the principal Act is amended by substituting for all words in lines nine to twenty- nine, both inclusive, the following words:—"less than the following percentage of the basic wage as declared and varied from time to time by the Court under the provisions of the Industrial Arbitration Act, 1912-1950, for males and females, as the case may be, and applying to the particular area in which the employee is employed:—
