I, QUENTIN BRYCE, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Extradition Act 1988.

Name of Regulations
These Regulations are the Extradition (Serbia) Regulations 2009.

Commencement
These Regulations commence on the day after they are registered.

Definitions
In these Regulations:
Act means the Extradition Act 1988.
Serbia means the Republic of Serbia.

Declaration that Serbia is an extradition country
Serbia is declared to be an extradition country.

Application of the Act in relation to Serbia
For paragraph 11 (1) (b) of the Act, the Act applies to Serbia subject to modification of paragraph 17 (2) (a) of the Act by omitting ‘45 days’ and substituting ‘60 days’.
