was as follows:
"WHEREAS the Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Seizure of Aircraft
(being the Convention referred to in the Crimes (Hijacking of Aircraft) Act
1972) entered into force for Australia on the ninth day of December, 1972:
"AND WHEREAS it is necessary, in order to give effect to that Convention,
that the Extradition (Foreign States) Act 1966-1972 should apply in relation to
the foreign states specified in Part I of the Schedule to the following
Regulations subject to that Convention:
"AND WHEREAS it is necessary, in order to give effect to that Convention,
that the Extradition (Foreign States) Act 1966-1972 should apply in relation to
the foreign states specified in Part II of the Schedule to the following
Regulations and should so apply subject to the condition set out in
sub-regulation (2) of regulation 2 of those Regulations:
"NOW THEREFORE I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of
Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make
the following Regulations under the Extradition (Foreign States) Act
1966-1972."

Citation
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Extradition (Hijacking of Aircraft) Regulations.*1*

EXTRADITION (HIJACKING OF AIRCRAFT) REGULATIONS - SECT. 2.
Application of Extradition (Foreign States) Act
2. (1) Notwithstanding any limitations, conditions, exceptions or qualifications to which the application of the Extradition (Foreign States) Act 1966-1972 in relation to the foreign states specified in Part I of the Schedule is subject by reason of sub-section (2) of section 9 of that Act, that Act applies in relation to those foreign states subject to the Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Seizure of Aircraft (being the Convention referred to in the Crimes (Hijacking of Aircraft) Act 1972).
(2) The Extradition (Foreign States) Act 1966-1972 applies in relation to the foreign states specified in Part II of the Schedule but so applies subject to the condition that the only offences against a law of, or of a part of, any of those foreign states that are extradition crimes for the purposes of that Act are the offences referred to in sub-section (5) of section 4 of that Act. -----------
