Extradition (Brazil) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the Extradition (Foreign States) Act 1966.

Application of Act

Regulation 2 of the Extradition (Brazil) Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (2) and substituting the following sub-regulation:

“(2) The Act applies to the Federative Republic of Brazil subject also to the following treaties:

(a) the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, 1961 as subsequently amended (being the Convention referred to in, and a copy of the English text of which is set out in the Schedule to, the Extradition (Narcotic Drugs) Regulations);

(b) the Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Seizure of Aircraft (being the Convention referred to in the Crimes (Hijacking of Aircraft) Act 1972);

(c) the Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts against the Safety of Civil Aviation (being the Convention referred to in the Crimes (Protection of Aircraft) Act 1973);

 

(d) the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Crimes against Internationally Protected Persons, including Diplomatic Agents (being the Convention referred to in the Crimes (Internationally Protected Persons) Act 1976).”.
