REGULATIONS UNDER THE CUSTOMS ACT 1901-1957 AND THE COMMERCE (TRADE DESCRIPTIONS) ACT 1905-1950.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of, Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the CustomsAct 1901-1957 and the Commerce(TradeDescriptions)Act 1905-1950.

Amendments of the Exports (Dairy Produce) Regulations. 

Commencement.

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on the first day of January, 1959.

Grades of butter and cheese.

2. Regulation 8 of the Exports (Dairy Produce) Regulations is amended by omitting from the table in sub-regulation (3.) the words—

“Cheese graded at 83 to 85 points inclusive | Third quality”.

Export permits, certificates, &c.

3. Regulation 18 of the Exports (Dairy Produce) Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (f) of sub-regulation (1.) the words—

“Cheese graded at 83 to 85 points inclusive—Third Quality;”; and

(b) by omitting from paragraph (g) of sub-regulation (1.) the words and figures “Forms 10 to 22 (inclusive)” and inserting in their stead the words and figures “Forms 10, 11, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22”.

Second Schedule— item 5.

4. Item 5 of the Second Schedule to the Exports (Dairy Produce) Regulations is amended by inserting after paragraph 1 in the second column the following paragraph:—

“1a. The cheese shall not be graded at less than 86 points.”.

Second Schedule— item 10.

5. Item 10 of the Second Schedule to the Exports (Dairy Produce) Regulations is amended by omitting paragraph 1 in the third column and inserting in its stead the following paragraph:—

“1. The trade description shall be applied to both ends of the case, and shall include, in indelible violet coloured ink applied by means of a rubber stamp—

(a) on the left-hand lower corner of the branded ends—the number of the packer; and

(b) on the right-hand lower corner of the branded ends—figures (being figures ½ inch high and 1/16 inch wide without spacing between them) representing the day of the month and the month of packing or a code mark (being a code mark approved by the Secretary) indicating that day and month.”.

Second Schedule— item 13.

6. Item 13 of the Second Schedule to the Exports (Dairy Produce) Regulations is amended by omitting from paragraph 4 in the second column all the words after paragraph (a) and inserting in their stead the words—

 “(b)” free fatty acid not in excess of .15 parts per centum of the fat content, and shall have a melting point of not higher than 100 degrees Fahrenheit.”.

Sixth Schedule.

7. The Sixth Schedule to the Exports (Dairy Produce) Regulations is amended by omitting Forms 10 to 17 (inclusive) and inserting in their stead the following forms:—
