AN ORDINANCE to amend an Ordinance intituled " An Ordinance to regulate the Keeping and Carriage of Gun- powder."

HEREAS it is expedient to amend the Ordinance intituled An Preamble.

Be it therefore enacted by His Excellency the Governor of WesternW

Ordinance to regulate the Keeping and Carriage of Gunpowder; 14 Viet., No. 9.

Australia and its Dependencies, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Legislative Council thereof:

Trade of the said Colony, nor any Stera-vessel or Steam-boat engaged Gunpowder.

I. THAT no Steam-vessel engaged hi the ccieiting or Colonial No Steam-vessel to carry

on the River Trade thereof shall carry Gunpowder, either as Stores or Cargo ; and the Master or Owner of any Steam-vessel or Steam-boat on board which any Gunpowder may be found contrary to the Provisions of this Ordinance, shall forfeit and pay for every such Offence, any

that Nothing herein contained shall prevent or be construed to prevent any Steam-vessel bound to any Port or Ports beyond Seas, to carry.any such reasonable Quantity of Gunpowder as may be required for the Purpose of making Signals.

III. THAT the Penalties hereby imposed shall be recovered in the same Manner as any Penalties may be recovered under the Provisions of the said recited Ordinance.
