AN ACT to amend the Explosives and Dangerous

Goods Act, 1961.

[Assented to 12th December, 1966.]

RE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

Short title

and citation.

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Explosives

and Dangerous Goods Act Amendment Act, 1966.

(2) In this Act the Explosives and Dangerous

Goods Act, 1961, is referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act

may be cited as the Explosives and Dangerous Goods

Act, 1961-1966.

2. This Act shall come into operation on a date

to be fixed by proclamation.

3. Section thirty of the principal Act is amended

(2) A permit under the provisions of subsec-

tion (1) of this section

(a)

may be granted on such terms and conditions as the Chief Inspector thinks fit;

(b)

may be refused where in the opinion of the Chief Inspector the display in respect of which the permit is sought is likely to be a danger to public safety or where in his opinion there is other reasonable cause for refusal. .

5. Section thirty-three of the principal Act is

amended.

amended by inserting after the word, "explosives" in line two of paragraph (b), the passage, "(other than fireworks of the shopgoods class)".

6. Section thirty-four of the principal Act is amended.

tion one, the following paragraph

(ca) in the case of manufactured fireworks, he is either the holder of a permit under section thirty A of this Act or uses the fireworks under the immediate supervision of the holder of such a permit; or .
