No. 32 An Act to Amend "The Explosives Act of 1952," in certain particulars [ASSENTED TO 24TH NOVEMBER, 1961] B E it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-- !. (I) This Act may be cited as "The Explosives Short-title Act Amendment Act of 1961." (2) "The .Explosives Act of 1952." is in this Act t~cipal referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act and this Act may be <;:ollective collectively cited as" The Explosives Acts, 1952 to 1961." title 2. Section thirty-eight of the Principal Act is O \mc~iment amended by omitting from subsection (3) the word s. " Minister " and by inserting in its stead the words " Chief Inspector ".
100 Explosives Act, Etc., Act 10 ELIZ. II. No. 32, 1961 Amendment 3. Section forty-eight of the Principal Act is amended of s. 48 by omitting subsection (2) and inserting in its stead the following subsection :- " (2.) Where it appears to the Governor in Council that in its manufacture, storage, sale, carriage or handling, or in its use for or in relation to or in connection with any purpose, any substance is capable of being specially dangerous to human life or property by reason of its explosive properties either alone or in association with any other substance, the Governor in Council may, by regulation made in pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by this section, declare that the substance shall be deemed to be an explosive within the meaning of this Act and the provisions of this Act (subject to such exceptions, limitations, and restrictions as may be specified in the regulation) shall extend to the substance specified in the regulation in like manner as if it were included in the term " explosive "' in this Act."
