His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Exhibited Animals Protection Act 1986.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to prescribe the following new or revised standards for the exhibition of animals:

(a)	Standards for Exhibiting Animals at Mobile Establishments in New South Wales,
(b)	Standards for Exhibiting Animals during Temporary Removals in New South Wales,
(c)	Standards for Exhibiting Bottle-nosed Dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) in New South Wales,
(d)	Standards for Exhibiting Captive Raptors in New South Wales,
(e)	Standards for Exhibiting Circus Animals in New South Wales,
(f)	Standards for Exhibiting Seals in New South Wales.

These standards, which are published by the Department of Primary Industries, are in addition to the existing standards prescribed for the exhibition of animals which are also set out in this Regulation.

This Regulation is made under the Exhibited Animals Protection Act 1986, including sections

14, 25 and 53 (the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Exhibited Animals Protection Amendment
(Display Standards) Regulation 2009.

2 Amendment of Exhibited Animals Protection Regulation 2005

Clause 8 Standards for animal display establishments

Omit clause 8 (1). Insert instead:

(1) For the purposes of sections 14 and 25 of the Act, the
following standards are prescribed:
General Standards for Exhibiting Animals in New South
Wales (published in March 2004 by NSW Agriculture)
Policy on Exhibiting Primates in New South Wales
(published in March 2000 by NSW Agriculture)
Standards for Exhibiting Animals at Mobile
Establishments in New South Wales (published in October
2008 by the Department of Primary Industries)
Standards for Exhibiting Animals during Temporary
Removals in New South Wales (published in October 2008
by the Department of Primary Industries)
Standards for Exhibiting Australian Mammals in New
South Wales (published in April 2006 by the Department
