EXHIBITED ANIMALS PROTECTION ACT 1986—

REGULATION

(Relating to the Exhibited Animals Advisory Committee)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Exhibited Animals Protection Act 1986, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Exhibited Animals Protection Regulation 1987 is amended by

omitting clause 4 and by inserting instead the following clause:

Prescribed organisations

4. (1) For the purposes of section 6 (4) (e) of the Act, the following

are prescribed animal welfare organisations:

Animal Welfare League.
Project Jonah.
Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

World Wide Fund for Nature Australia.

(2) For the purposes of section 6 (4) (f) of the Act, the following are

prescribed organisations representing exhibitors of animals:

Associated Birdkeepers and Traders Inc.
Circus Proprietors Association.
N.S.W. Association of Fauna and Marine Parks.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The members of the Exhibited Animals Advisory Committee include a person selected by the Minister from persons nominated by prescribed animal welfare organisations and a person selected by the Minister from persons nominated by

prescribed organisations representing exhibitors of animals.

The object of this Regulation is to update, and redefine, the prescribed lists of

names of those organisations.
