EXCISE TARIFF VALIDATION (No. 2).

An Act to amend the Excise Tariff Validation Act (No. 2) 1943.

[Assented to 11th December, 1946.]

BE it enacted by the King’s Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—

Short title and citation.

1.—(1.) This Act may be. cited as the Excise Tariff Validation Act (No. 2) 1946.

(2.) The Excise Tariff Validation Act (No. 2) 1943, as amended by this Act, may be cited as the Excise Tariff Validation Act 1943-1946.

Commencement.

2. This Act shall be deemed to have come into operation on the fifteenth day of November, One thousand nine hundred and forty-six.

3. After section three of the Excise Tariff Validation Act (No. 2) 1943 the following section is added:—

Act. not to apply in relation to certain goods.

“4. The last preceding section shall not apply in relation to any goods entered for home consumption after nine o’clock in the forenoon, reckoned according to standard time in the Australian Capital Territory, on the fifteenth day of November, One thousand nine hundred and forty-six, being goods included in sub-item (n) of item 2, or item 20 or 21, as proposed by the Excise Tariff Proposals introduced into the House of Representatives on the fifth day of March, One thousand nine hundred and forty-two, to be inserted in the Schedule to the Excise Tariff 1921
