Excise Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Excise Act 1901.

Commencement

1. Regulation 4 shall be deemed to have taken effect from the commencement of section 9 of the Customs and Excise Amendment Act 1983.

Requirements for remission, rebate or refund

2. Regulation 51 of the Excise Regulations is amended by inserting “, rebate” after “remission” (wherever occurring) in sub-regulation (1).

Application for remission, rebate or refund

3. Regulation 52 of the Excise Regulations is amended by inserting “, rebate” after “remission”.

4. After regulation 52 of the Excise Regulations the following regulation is inserted:

Rate of rebate of duty in respect of diesel fuel

“52a. For the purposes of sub-section 78a (5) of the Act, the rate of rebate in respect of any diesel fuel is $0.07155 per litre.”.
