Regulations under the Evidence Act

1Citation

These Regulations may be cited as the Evidence Regulations.

2Prescribed fee for public documents

For the purposes of section 29(7) of the Act the prescribed fee is $10 plus $1.50 per page of the document.

3Prescribed qualifications for reporting scientist

For the definition reporting scientist in section 24 of the Act, each of the following is a prescribed qualification:

• (a)

  a degree of Bachelor of Molecular Biology awarded by a university in Australia or New Zealand;

• (b)

  a degree equivalent to a degree mentioned in paragraph (a);

• (c)

  another science degree that, combined with at least 6 months experience as a forensic scientist at a laboratory, is equivalent to a degree mentioned in paragraph (a) or (b).
