I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Evidence (Audio and Audio Visual Links) Act 1999 .30 June 2008

1Short titleThese regulations may be cited as the Evidence (Audio and Audio Visual Links) Regulations 2008 . 2CommencementThese regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette. 3InterpretationIn these regulations – Act means the Evidence (Audio and Audio Visual Links) Act 1999 . 4Certain tribunals prescribed as Tasmanian courtsThe following tribunals are prescribed as Tasmanian courts for the purposes of the definition of "Tasmanian court" in section 3 of the Act: (a) Forensic Tribunal; (b) Guardianship and Administration Board; (c) Mental Health Tribunal; (d) Motor Accidents Compensation Tribunal; (e) Resource Management and Planning Appeal Tribunal; (f) Resource Planning and Development Commission; (g) Tasmanian Industrial Commission; (h) the Tribunal constituted under section 12 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1998 ; (i) Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Tribunal. 5Legislation rescindedThe legislation specified in Schedule 1 is rescinded. EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the regulation) These regulations –

(a) prescribe certain tribunals as Tasmanian courts for the purposes of the Evidence (Audio and Audio Visual Links) Act 1999 ; and (b) rescind the Evidence (Audio and Audio Visual Links) Regulations 1999 .
