Essex-street Alignment Act 1889 (NSW)

An Act to declare valid an amended align ment of Essex-street in the City of Sydney. [30th September, 1889.]
WH E R E A S the existing alignment of Essex-street, in the City of ways, and it is expedient to declare valid the proposed alignment of Sydney, is defective and inconvenient in respect to the foot
such foot-ways to the width hereinafter specified and t o make such other provision in respect to such street as is hereinafter contained. Be it therefore enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legis lative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—
1. After the passing of this Act the foot-ways and carriage-way in Essex-street, from George to Princes Street, shall be of the respective dimensions shown on a plan of the said street, numbered 1A, now deposited in the Town Hall, at Sydney, a copy whereof is comprised in the Schedule to this Act, and which dimensions are specified and set forth in the Schedule hereto, and the said foot-ways shall be of the width of ten feet. And notwithstanding anything in any Act of Parliament the carriage-way and foot-ways so shown, shall for all purposes of the eighty-eighth and eighty-ninth sections of the " Sydney Corporation Act of 1879," be deemed to have been duly aligned and
se t out under the authority of the said last-mentioned Act, and to be
binding and conclusive on all persons.
