PROVISION OF FUNERAL, BURIAL OR CREMATION

SERVICES TO BE AN ESSENTIAL SERVICE

I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, on the certification of the Premier that the following service is essential in the public interest, and in pursuance of section 4 of the Essential Services Act 1988, do, by this my Order, declare the provision of funeral, burial or cremation services (including the handling, transportation, interment and cremation of corpses and the manufacture and maintenance of coffins and crematorium equipment) to be an essential service for the purposes of the Essential Services Act 1988.
