ESSENTIAL SERVICES ACT 1988 - ORDER

DECLARING A STATE OF EMERGENCY IN RELATION

TO TRANSPORTATION OF FREIGHT BY ROAD*

NEW SOUTH WALES

WHEREAS it appears that:

(a) the transportation of freight by road into, out of and within New South Wales (including the loading and unloading of vehicles in connection with any such transportation) is likely to be interrupted or reduced; and
(b) an emergency situation is likely to exist in relation to that transportation:

Therefore, I, Rear Admiral Sir DAVID JAMES MARTIN, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 10 of the Essential Services Act 1988, do, by this my Order, declare that a state of emergency exists in relation to the transportation of freight by road into, out of and within New South Wales (including the loading and unloading of vehicles in connection with any such transportation).

This Order applies to and has operation throughout the whole of the State of New South Wales.

The Minister for Industrial Relations and Employment is, pursuant to section 10 (2) (b) of the Essential Services Act 1988, the Minister who may give directions under section 11 of that Act in relation to the above essential service.

This Order takes effect from its making and (unless sooner revoked)

continues in force for the period of 30 days.
