ESSENTIAL SERVICES ACT 1988—ORDER DECLARING A

STATE OF EMERGENCY IN RELATION TO THE

PROVISION OF SEWERAGE SERVICES AND THE SUPPLY

OR DISTRIBUTION OF WATER

NEW SOUTH WALES

WHEREAS it appears that:

(a) the provision of sewerage services and the supply or distribution of water are likely to be interrupted or reduced or otherwise to be rendered insufficient for the reasonable requirements of the community; and
(b) an emergency situation is likely to exist in relation to the provision of sewerage services and the supply or distribution of water:

Therefore, I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 10 of the Essential Services Act 1988, do, by this my Order, declare that a state of emergency exists in relation to the provision of sewerage services and the supply or distribution of water.

This Order applies to and has operation throughout the whole of the

State of New South Wales.

The Minister for Industrial Relations is, pursuant to section 18 (2) (b)
of the Essential Services Act 1988, the Minister who may give directions
under section 11 of that Act in relation to the above essential services.

1991—No. 344

This Order takes effect from its making and (unless sooner revoked)

continues in force for the period of 30 days.
