Equal Opportunity Amendment

Regulations 2004

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

1. Citation
These are the Equal Opportunity Amendment Regulations 2004.

2.             Commencement

These regulations come into operation on the day on which Part 2 Jurisdiction) Amendment and Repeal Act 2004 comes into operation or on the day of their publication in the Gazette, whichever is the later.

3.             The regulations amended

The amendments in these regulations are to the Equal
Opportunity Regulations 1986*.

4.             Part 2 heading replaced

The heading to Part 2 is deleted and the following heading is inserted instead —

Part 2 — Complaints and preliminary matters

”.

5. Parts 3 to 6 repealed
Parts 3, 4, 5 and 6 are repealed.

6.             Regulation 4 inserted

After regulation 3 the following regulation is inserted in
Part 2 —

4.             Representative complaint

The Tribunal shall determine at an interim hearing whether any complaint shall be dealt with as a representative complaint.

7. Regulations 21 to 23 repealed
Regulations 21, 22 and 23 are repealed.
8. Regulation 24 amended
Regulation 24 is amended as follows:

(a)

by deleting “Registrar” and inserting instead — “ executive officer of the Tribunal ”;

(b)

by deleting “and every affidavit filed in support of such applications”;

(c)

by deleting “registrar” and inserting instead — “ executive officer ”.

9. Regulations 25 to 27 repealed
Regulations 25, 26 and 27 are repealed.
10. Parts 8 and 9 repealed
Parts 8 and 9 are repealed.

11.           Regulation 32B amended

Regulation 32B(2) is amended by deleting “municipal clerk of
the council of a municipality constituted under the Local
Government Act 1960” and inserting instead —

“ chief executive officer of a local government ”.

12. Schedule 1 amended
Schedule 1 Forms 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 are deleted.
