An Act to amend the Epidemiological Studies (Confidentiality) Act 1992

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:
Short title
1. This Act may be cited as the Epidemiological Studies (Confidentiality) (Amendment) Act 1992.
Commencement
2. This Act commences on the day on which it is notified in the Gazette.
Principal Act
3. In this Act, “Principal Act” means the Epidemiological Studies (Confidentiality) Act 1992.1
Interpretation
4. Section 3 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting the definition of “Canberra Drug Users Study” and substituting the following definition:
“ ‘Canberra Drug Users Study’ means the Territory epidemiological study known as Canberra Drug Users, Their Networks and HIV: Establishing Risks and Harm Minimisation Strategies, being the study that—
(a)relates to the networks, the infection with human immuno‑deficiency virus, the risks and the strategies for minimising the risks, of drug users in the Territory;
(b)is conducted by Phyll Dance of the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health; and
(c)commenced in January 1990;”.
