These regulations are the
These regulations come into operation as follows —
(a) Part 1 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website;
(b) the rest of the regulations — on 1 June 2024.
This Part amends the
After regulation 18 insert:
(1) In this regulation —
(a) a banner, placard, sign, bunting or similar thing; and
(b) made wholly or partly from soft plastic;
(a) means plastic that is not rigid; but
(b) does not include the following —
(i) nylon;
(ii) polyester fabric;
(iii) woven mesh;
(iv) plasticised canvas.
(2) A person must not use, or authorise another person to use, prescribed plastic film signage outdoors for promotional or advertising purposes.
Penalty for this subregulation: a fine of $5 000.
