Environmental Protection and Other Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2008 Part 1 Preliminary [s 1] Part 1 Preliminary 1 Short title This regulation may be cited as the Environmental Protection and Other Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2008 . 2 Commencement This regulation commences on 11 February 2008. Part 2 Amendment of Environmental Protection Regulation 1998 3 Regulation amended in pt 2 This part amends the EnvironmentalProtectionRegulation 1998. 4 Replacement of s 63 (Authorised persons—Act, s 445(1)(c)) Section 63— omit, insert— ‘63 Authorised persons—Act, s 445(1)(c) ‘For section 445(1)(c) of the Act, the following classes of persons are declared to be an approved class of persons— (a) employees of a local government who are appointed as authorised persons by the local government’s chief executive officer; (b) for the purposes only of section 440J and chapter 9, part 2A of the Act, persons who are— Page 2 2008 SL No. 13

Part 3 Amendment of Environmental Protection (Waste Management) Regulation 2000 5 Regulation amended in pt 3 This part amends the EnvironmentalProtection(WasteManagement) Regulation 2000. 6 Omission of pt 2 (Litter and related matters) Part 2— omit. 7 Amendment of sch 9 (Dictionary) Schedule 9, definition litter bin— omit. 2008 SL No. 13 Page 3
