Subsection 209(1)(b)

Update of the List of Migratory Species

I, PETER ROBERT GARRETT, Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts, pursuant to subsection 209(1)(b) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, amend the list of migratory species to include all species required to be included under paragraph 209(3)(a) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, following inclusion on Appendix II of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (‘Bonn Convention’) of:

Common name   Scientific name          

Porbeagle shark   Lamna nasus  

Shortfin mako shark                  Isurus oxyrinchus

Longfin mako   shark                Isurus paucus  

This instrument will commence on 29 January 2010.
