X-IEREAS it is expedient to make provision for the establish- P r e d l e.

of speedy and regular Postal Communication between

the Province of South Australia and Great Britain-Be it therefore Enacted, by the Governor-in-Chief of the Province of South Australia, with the actvice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly of the said Province, in this present Parliament

assembled, as follows:

Executive Council, to make, or cause to be made, arrangements

with the Postmaster-Gcncral in England, and with a11 other neces- Britain, invoMngan

sasy parties, for the purpose of establishing a Mail communication e,ceedmg PU,PoO, annual expense not

by steam, not less than once n month, between the said Province and Great Britain, involving an annual expenditure on the part of the said Province, of any sum npt exceediag Fifteen Thousand Pounds, and to enter into any necessary contract or contracts, for any period not exceeding five years from the commencement of any such con- tract or contracts: Provided always, either that no arrangement shall be lawful under the provisions of this Act, which shall not include the whole of the cost of such mail comrnudication, including any branch services to and from Port Adelaide, or provide for the '

delivery and receipt of the Mails, by the Ocean Steamer, at some

Port of this Province.
