ENERGY LEGISLATION (REPEALS AND SAVINGS) ACT

1987—REGULATION

(Relating to certain rights of employees of Sydney Electricity)

NEW SOUTH WALES

[Published in Gazette No. 38 of 20 March 1992]

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Energy Legislation (Repeals and Savings) Act 1987, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

ROBERT WEBSTER

Minister for Energy.

The Energy Transitional Provisions Regulation 1987 is amended by

omitting clause 7 (3) and (4).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to repeal certain transitional provisions relating

to the rights of employees of Sydney Electricity (formerly Sydney County Council).

Clause 7 of the Energy Transitional Provisions Regulation 1987 saves certain rights that employees of Sydney County Council had, including a right not to be based outside the county district in which the employee was based before the reconstitution of the Sydney County Council. This Regulation removes that right.

Similar protection existed for employees of other reconstituted county councils under the County Districts Reconstitution Act 1979. That protection will be removed by amendments made to that Act by the Electricity and Other Legislation

(Amendment) Act 1991.
