Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Energy and Utilities Administration Act 1987.

Explanatory note
The objects of this Regulation are as follows:

(a) to update references to the standard for minimum energy performance and energy labelling for air conditioners and heat pumps,
(b) to update a reference to the standard for minimum energy performance for incandescent lamps,
(c) to update a reference to the standard for measuring the power consumption of digital television set-top boxes.

This Regulation is made under the Energy and Utilities Administration Act 1987, including sections 38 and 53 (the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Energy and Utilities Administration Amendment (Air Conditioners, Set-Top Boxes and Incandescent Lamps) Regulation 2012.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the
NSW legislation website.

[1]      Schedule 1 Standards for electrical or gas equipment that requires registration and labelling with an energy efficiency label

Omit clause 1 (c). Insert instead:

(c) AS/NZS 3823.2:2011, Performance of electrical appliances—Air conditioners and heat pumps, Part 2: Energy labelling and minimum energy performance standards (MEPS) requirements.
