Endangered Species Protection Regulations 2(Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Endangered Species Protection Act 1992.

1.   Amendment

1.1   The Endangered Species Protection Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

[NOTE: These Regulations commence on gazettal: see Acts Interpretation Act 1901, s. 48.]

2.   Regulation 4 (Nominations of native species)

2.1   Subparagraph 4 (1) (e) (i):

After “literature”, insert “or, if there is no such description of the species, a statement in writing, made and signed by a person who is a taxonomist and has relevant expertise, that in the opinion of that person the species is a new species”.
