New South Wales

Electricity Supply (General)

Amendment (GGAS Scheme)

Regulation 2012

under the

Electricity Supply Act 1995

Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Electricity Supply Act 1995.

CHRIS HARTCHER, MP

Minister for Resources and Energy

Explanatory note
The Electricity Supply Act 1995 provides that applications for accreditation as an abatement certificate provider under the Act cannot be made on or after 1 January 2010 unless the regulations prescribe a later date. The Electricity Supply (General) Regulation 2001 currently extends the deadline for making certain applications to 31 December 2012. The object of this Regulation is to replace that deadline with 11 May 2012 in light of the proposal to terminate the greenhouse gas scheme set out in Part 8A of the Act.

This Regulation is made under the Electricity Supply Act 1995, including sections 97DB (1A) and 191 (the general regulation-making power).
