I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Electricity Supply Act 1995, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 30 June 1998 as the day on which section 31 of that Act commences.

The object of this Proclamation is to commence a provision of the Electricity Supply Act 1995 (section 31)1 that ensures that an electricity consumer may choose who is to provide any electrical or other goods or services that are required under the terms of a customer connection contract, subject to the provider of certain of those services being duly accredited to provide those services.
