His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Electricity Supply Act 1995.

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Electricity Supply (General)

Regulation 1996 so as:

(a)	to suspend the operation of clause 14 (which provides that the State Rail Authority is taken to hold certain authorisations and licences under the Electricity Supply Act 1995) from the date on which this Regulation is Gazetted until 1 July 1997, and
(b)	to make consequential amendments to clauses 7 and 9.

This Regulation is made under the Electricity Supply Act 1995, including section 106 (the general regulation making power) and clause 1 of Schedule

6 (the power to make regulations of a savings or transitional nature).

1 Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Electricity Supply (General) Amendment
(State Rail Authority) Regulation 1997.

2 Amendment of Electricity Supply (General) Regulation 1996

The Electricity Supply (General) Regulation 1996 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.

Schedule 1 Amendments

(Clause 2)

[1]       Clause 7 Exemptions from section 6 Insert after clause 7 (2):

(3) This clause does not apply to the State Rail Authority while the provisions of clause 14 (1) and (2) are in force with respect to that Authority.

[2]        Clause 9 Exemptions from section 13

Insert after clause 9 (2):

(3) This clause does not apply to the State Rail Authority while the provisions of clause 14 (1) and (2) are in force with respect to that Authority.

[ 3 ]       Clause 14 State Rail Authority taken to hold authorisations and licences

Insert after clause 14 (2):

(2A) The operation of subclauses subclauses (1) and (2) is suspended for

the period beginning on the date on which this subclause
commences and ending on 1 July 1997.
