Amendment Regulation 1997

His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Electricity Safety Act 1945.

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Electricity (Workers’ Safety) Regulation 1992 to alter the live line safe working distances for employees so as to maintain safety and maximise productivity. In particular the Regulation amends the safe live line working distance for overhead lines depending on the voltage of the lines.

The amendments are the result of a review undertaken by the Industry Safety
Steering Committee.
This Regulation is made under the Electricity Safety Act 1945, including
section 37 (the general regulation making power, in particular section 37 (2)

1 Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Electricity (Workers’ Safety) Amendment

Regulation 1997.

2 Commencement

This Regulation commences on 3 1st January 1997.

3 Amendment of Electricity (Workers’ Safety) Regulation 1992

The Electricity (Workers’ Safety) Regulation 1992 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.
