s1 3 s5 Electricity Legislation Amendment (No. 1) No. 250, 2000 PART 1—PRELIMINARY ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Electricity Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2000 . PART 2—AMENDMENT OF ELECTRICITY (ELECTRICAL ARTICLES) REGULATION 1994 ˙ Regulation amended in pt 2 2. This part amends the Electricity (Electrical Articles) Regulation 1994 . ˙ Amendment of s 5A (What is a “prescribed electrical article”) 3. Section 5A(3), definition “wiring rules” omit, insert— “wiring rules” means Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 3000—Electrical installations (known as the Australian/New Zealand Wiring Rules).’. ˙ Amendment of s 43 (Minimum energy efficiency, and performance criteria) 4. Section 43, heading ‘ efficiency, ’— omit, insert— efficiency ’. ˙ Amendment of ch 3 (Prescribed electrical equipment) 5.(1) Chapter 3, part 2, division 3— renumber as division 4.

Section 116, ‘a District Court’— omit, insert— ‘the District Court’. PART 3—AMENDMENT OF ELECTRICITY REGULATION 1994 ˙ Regulation amended in pt 3 7. This part amends the Electricity Regulation 1994 . ˙ Amendment of s 5 (Words have the same meaning as in wiring rules) 8. Section 5(2) and (3)— omit, insert— (2) However, for this regulation, the expressions ‘point of supply’ and ‘service line’ in the wiring rules have the same meanings, respectively, as ‘consumers terminals’ and ‘service line’ have in this regulation. (3) In this section— “wiring rules” means the Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 3000—Electrical installations (known as the Australian/New Zealand Wiring Rules). 1 ’. 1 AS/NZS 3000—Electrical installations may be purchased from Standards Australia.

(2) Schedule 8— insert— “consumers terminals” means the point where a customer’s electrical installation is connected to a service line. “service line” means an electric line, including a connection to the service fuse, servicing a customer’s premises from the point of supply on the relevant supplier’s works to the customer’s consumers terminals. “space for a substation” for chapter 4, part 1, division 3, see section 237. “wiring rules” see section 5.’.
