His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following

Regulation under the Electricity (Consumer Safety) Act 2004.

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to enable the Secretary to delegate his or her functions under the Electricity
(Consumer Safety) Act 2004 or regulations under that Act to persons to whom electricity network assets
have been transferred under Part 2 of the Electricity Network Assets (Authorised Transactions) Act 2015 or
any person engaged or employed by such a person.
This Regulation is made under the Electricity (Consumer Safety) Act 2004, including sections 54 and 55
(the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Electricity (Consumer Safety) Amendment Regulation 2017.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Electricity (Consumer Safety) Regulation 2015

Clause 44

Insert after clause 43:

44      Delegated functions

For the purposes of paragraph (c) of the definition of authorised person in section 54 (4) of the Act, any person to whom electricity network assets have been transferred under Part 2 of the Electricity Network

Assets (Authorised Transactions) Act 2015, and a person employed or
engaged by any such person, are prescribed.
