His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following

Regulation under the Electricity (Consumer Safety) Act 2004.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to prescribe a fee in respect of the inspection of an electrical installation that
includes the installation of an electricity meter.
This Regulation is made under the Electricity (Consumer Safety) Act 2004, including sections 30A (2) and
55 (the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Electricity (Consumer Safety) Amendment (Meter Inspection
Fee) Regulation 2016.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on 1 July 2016 and is required to be published on the
NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Electricity (Consumer Safety) Regulation 2015

Chapter 3, Part 4

Insert after clause 38:

Part 4 Installation of electricity meters
38A Inspection of installation of electricity meters

For the purposes of section 30A of the Act, the fee payable in respect of the inspection of an electrical installation that includes the installation of an electricity meter is:

(a) for the initial inspection of an installation—$15, and
(b) for a second or subsequent inspection of an installation—$75.
