Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Electricity (Consumer Safety) Regulation 2015 to increase the fees payable under the Electricity (Consumer Safety) Act 2004 in respect of model approval for electrical articles and for renewals, modifications and notices of change of particulars of model approvals. The fee increases are generally in line with movements in the Consumer Price Index (rounded to the nearest dollar). This Regulation is made under the Electricity (Consumer Safety) Act 2004, including section 55 (the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Electricity (Consumer Safety) Amendment (Fees) Regulation
2016.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on 1 July 2016 and is required to be published on the
NSW legislation website.

Regulation 2015

[1]      Clause 3 Definitions

Omit the definition of applicable fee from clause 3 (1).

[2]      Clause 4 Fees

Omit clause 4 (1). Insert instead:

(1) The fees to be paid in connection with the administration of the Act, including fees for the lodgment of any documents under the Act, are set out in Schedule 2.

[3]      Clauses 5 (2) (a), 7 (4) (b), 8 (3) (c), 11 (2) (b), 13 (2) and 19 (2) (b)

Omit “applicable” wherever occurring.
