ELECTRICITY AND OTHER LEGISLATION (AMENDMENT)

ACT 1991 NO. 63—PROCLAMATION*

NEW SOUTH WALES

I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Electricity and Other Legislation (Amendment) Act 1991, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 September 1992 as the day on which the following provisions of that Act commence:

(a) the provisions of Schedule 1 (11);

(b)

the provisions of Schedule 2 relating to the Search Warrants Act 1985.

* The proclamation appointed 1.9.1992 as the date of commencement. Pursuant to s. 23 (5) of the Interpretation Act 1987, the proclamation does not fail merely because it was not published in the Gazette until after the day appointed in the proclamation, but s. 23 (5) provides, in that event, for the Act to commence on the day on which the proclamation was published in the Gazette.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence certain amendments to the

Electricity Act 1945 and the Search Warrants Act 1985 made by the Electricity and

Other Legislation (Amendment) Act 1991. The amendments relate to the reporting and investigation of serious electrical accidents.
