s1 4 s4 Electricity and Gas Legislation Amendment No. 82, 1999 The Parliament of Queensland enacts— PART 1—PRELIMINARY ˙ Short title 1. This Act may be cited as the Electricity and Gas Legislation Amendment Act 1999 . ˙ Commencement 2. Part 2 commences, or is taken to have commenced, on 4 December 1999. PART 2—AMENDMENT OF ELECTRICITY AMENDMENT ACT (No. 3) 1997 ˙ Act amended in pt 2 3. This part amends the Electricity Amendment Act (No. 3) 1997 . ˙ Replacement of s 2 (Commencement) 4. Section 2— omit, insert— ˙ ‘ Commencement ‘ 2.(1) The following provisions commence on 5 December 2000— (a) section 32(1); (b) section 33; (c) section 39 to the extent it inserts chapter 5, part 1B;

s5 5 s7 Electricity and Gas Legislation Amendment No. 82, 1999 (d) section 66(2) to the extent it inserts section 254(1)(c); (e) section 83(2) to the extent it inserts the definitions “dispute” and “Office” and paragraph (c) in the definition “electricity entity” ; (f) part 5. ‘ (2) The remaining provisions commence on a day to be fixed by proclamation.’. PART 3—AMENDMENT OF GAS PIPELINES ACCESS (QUEENSLAND) ACT 1998 ˙ Act amended in pt 3 5. This part amends the Gas Pipelines Access (Queensland) Act 1998 . ˙ Amendment of s 58 (Reference tariffs for certain pipelines) 6. Section 58(2)— omit, insert— ‘ (2) The local Minister may once only, by gazette notice made within 30 days after this section commences, approve a tariff arrangement for each pipeline.’. ˙ Amendment of s 65 (Insertion of new s 5B) 7.(1) Section 65, inserted section 5B(1), ‘1 January 2000’— omit, insert— ‘1 December 2000’. (2) Section 65, inserted section 5C(1)(a), ‘31 December 1999’— omit, insert— ‘30 November 2000’.
